Cookies
6. New technologies are emerging on the Internet that help us to deliver customised visitor experiences. In particular, there is a technology called "cookies" which may be used by us to provide you with, for example, customised information from our web site.
A cookie is an element of data that a web site can send to your browser, which may then store it on your system. Cookies allow us to understand who has seen which pages and advertisements, to determine how frequently particular pages are visited and to determine the most popular areas of our web site.
Depending on the type of cookie we use, cookies also allow us to make our web site more user friendly, for example, permanent cookies allow us to save your password so that you do not have to re-enter it every time you visit our web site.
If you wish, you can usually adjust your browser so that your computer does not accept cookies. If you do this, you will still be able to browse around the site but the functions that allow you to add items to your cart, set up a new account or access an existing account will not be available. Alternatively you can adjust your browser to tell you when a website tries to put a cookie on your computer.
How you adjust your browser to stop it accepting cookies or to notify you of them, will depend on the type of internet browser programme your computer uses. If your computer uses Microsoft Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator, you will need to follow these instructions after clicking onto this link www.allaboutcookies.org (soundcontrol.co.uk is not responsible for the content of external websites. This link will open a new window.) Go to the heading "Manage Cookies". Click onto the option you prefer, either stopping cookies being installed, or notifying you of them. From the list provided, click onto the programme which your computer uses.
If this is not shown on the list, click on the "help" heading on the bar at the top of this page, search for information on "cookies" - an explanation of how to delete cookies will appear, then follow these instructions.

7. Please remember, cookies do not contain confidential information such as your home address, telephone number or credit card details. We do not exchange cookies with any third party websites or external data suppliers.

8. Your browser also generates other information, including which language the site is displayed in, and your Internet Protocol address ("IP address"). An IP address is a set of numbers which is assigned to your computer during a browsing session whenever you log on to the Internet via your internet service provider or your network (if you access the Internet from, for example, a computer at work). Your IP address is automatically logged by our servers and used to collect traffic data about visitors to our web sites. We do not use your IP address to identify you personally.

9. We only keep cookies for the duration of your visit to our website.

Security
10. We endeavour to take all reasonable steps to protect your personal information. However, we cannot guarantee the security of any data you disclose on-line. You accept the inherent security risks of providing information and dealing on-line over the Internet and will not hold us responsible for any breach of security unless this is due to our negligence or wilful default.

Secure online shopping at Sound Control

At Sound Control, we take security very seriously and make shopping online as safe as shopping in any of our stores.

Your browser will go into secure mode as soon as you access the ''checkout'' or ''login'' pages, i.e. before you enter any personal or payment details. You can check that you are shopping in a secure environment by looking for either a locked padlock or a key icon in the grey bar at the bottom of your screen.

Being in ''secure mode'' means that all of your details are encrypted to help keep them secure. Encryption creates billions of code combinations to protect each transaction made on our site, so your card details cannot be viewed by anyone else using the Internet. If you are using one of the more recent browser versions, our site supports 128 bit encryption and therefore keeps your details as safe as possible at all times.

We only accept orders that are placed using Secure Socket Layer (SSL). This technology prevents you from inadvertently revealing personal information using an insecure connection. During payment, we also ask for your card billing address as an additional security check.

All transactions are made securely with our online merchant bank Netbanx, so no credit or debit card details are stored once your order has been processed. This is why you need to enter your card details each time you order.

We recommend that you always close down your Internet browser when you have finished shopping online, especially if you use a shared PC. This will delete temporary Internet cookies from any sites that you may have visited.

For further information about shopping on Soundcontrol.co.uk,
please read our
terms and conditions and Delivery information

If you have any further concerns about security, please Email Customer Services or write to Customer Services, Sound Control, 61-67 Jamaica St, Glasgow, G1 4NN.

Delivery Information

We use
UPS couriers to fulfil our orders.

Once stock is allocated, UPS couriers are instructed to collect the package from one of our locations around the UK. If you require, we can obtain a UPS tracking number to allow you to track the parcel as it makes its way to you.
To request this complimentary service please email onlinesales@soundcontrol.co.uk, including the subject line ''tracking'' and remember to quote your order number.

On the day of delivery, UPS will arrive with your order. It is important that someone is available to accept delivery of the parcel and have to remind you that, if it is delivered to a business address, it is your responsibility to ensure that any reception staff are aware and are authorised to accept delivery on your behalf.
We would urge you inspect the parcel on delivery to ensure that it has not been damaged in transit and refer you to the terms and conditions of using UPS. By placing an order with us you do accept these conditions of carriage.

How long will I normally have to wait?
If you place your order between 9am-5pm, Monday to Friday the process starts instantly. If you place your order over a weekend, a public holiday or outside of our business hours it will be processed on the next working day.

If the stock can be allocated before 1pm it will be normally be collected by UPS that day.
For the majority of UK addresses you could expect delivery between 9am-5pm on the next working day from collection, and delivery is guaranteed within two working days from collection.

During the checkout process of the site you will be notified that delivery can take up to 14 days. Although we endeavour to have the goods sent to you as soon as possible, it is necessary to advise you of this time period as sometimes quality control procedures or availability can delay dispatch.
